II. How does ZEITGEISTprogram adhere to, and follow, the guidelines of Don Norman’s Human Centered Design?

This is the way we are developing ZEITGEISTprogram, as a model for the present/future sustainable, quality education for every kid on his/her context:

1) Solve the core, root issues, not just the problem as presented (which is often the symptom, not the cause):

ZEITGEISTprogram proposal:
Education is in crisis, specially in developing countries; in pandemic times this issue was evident. The resources usually don’t reach down to learning kids and the educational programs keep considering obsolete methods. Furthermore, many students with special needs are being left aside. As a society, we are not thinking enough about technology’s impact and the skills/competencies needed to make us a better humanity.

2) Focus on the entire ecosystem of people, all living things, and the physical environment:

ZEITGEISTprogram proposal:
We are a community of kids, parents, and academic tutors on minimalistic premises, who develop learning experiences in an agile -but- systemic way. We are community teaching, and learning, from the community.

3) Take a long-term, systems point of view, realizing that most complications result from the interdependencies of the multiple parts and that many of the most damaging implications upon society and the eco structure only reveal themselves years or even decades later:

Our bet is to spread this way of community and humanity-driven learning, in our region, country, and the world. This is our dream: “Democratizing the model”, We wish that “there will be one learning village in every neighborhood and every situation that needs it”.

4) Continually test and refine the proposed designs to ensure they truly meet the concerns of the people for whom they are intended:

ZEITGEISTprogram proposal:
We are pivoting to continuous improvement. Because of this reason we adopted an Agile-Design Methodology. We have come a long way, from an initial idea of Ed-Tech with Artificial Intelligence… …to a face-to-face -community-driven- way. We have had almost seven iterations, 110 apprentices, and 17 tutors, and we know that we are still at the beginning of our journey.

5) Design with the community, and as much as possible support designs by the community. The professional designer community should serve as enablers, facilitators, and resources, aiding the community to meet their concerns

ZEITGEISTprogram proposal:
We constantly: Observe, assess, and discuss with each family and the tutors; re-designing the learning experiences, and evaluating the results comprehensively, in an agile-humanity-centered- way.
